About this event

In this workshop, we will cover how to: read in your text data from multiple files, parse the data using tools from natural language processing, extract the most frequent words and phrases, and export the results to a file format compatible with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

All coding will be done in Python. Although it would be nice if you had some coding experience, we have several videos that can help get you up to speed (20 mins total)! This will be a great help for anyone majoring in Sociology, History, or Linguistics, although all backgrounds all welcome.

Before you attend

While no prior computer science is necessary, we have created two videos to help you get started with Kaggle and Python. There are twenty minutes in total.
